Advantages of Open Dance Academy
The lessons and explanations really are world class. The instructors explain everything very well, giving you hints and tips for what to look out for, how each hold should feel and tips for improvement. Lessons are well-paced with the chance to pause and skip back if you need something repeated.
Learning anything at home is the most convenient way to learn at your own pace. If you have a busy lifestyle, job, or family then it can be hard to find the time to commit to a series of pole dancing classes. By choosing to learn at home, you can do so in your own time.
You can take as much time as you want to practice and review moves. If you’re in a gym or a public class, you may not have enough time to spend practising a particular move as the instructor may have a lesson plan to stick to. By learning at home, you control what you do during a practice session.
Learning pole dancing at home is also much less expensive than classes consider how much you learn for the price if you choose online lessons.
Pole fitness lessons may cost $20-$30 per time, and you should attend once a week to really feel the benefit. Open Dance Academy gives you access to over 450 lessons for $350, and our exclusive coupon code (polefitfreedom) will give you 10% off this price, or the price of any other classes offered by Open Dance Academy.
This is exceptionally good value.
Disadvantages of Open Dance Academy
Lack of real-time instruction and advice. This is the only real major disadvantage. Having a qualified instructor nearby is invaluable when you’re starting to learn pole dancing. You may not realise that your technique is completely wrong, but there’s no one there to correct you. Also, you may think you’re doing the move correctly when in actual fact you’re not. This can lead to injuries and muscle strain over time. Always have a spotter and follow this safety advice when you’re poling at home.
You will, of course have to buy your own portable dance pole. This is a big investment for a high-quality dance pole as they don’t come cheap. Read our guide to buying your first portable dance pole for more information.
