If you’re new to pole dancing and you love books, then you’ll be pleased to know there are loads of pole dancing books available. Many people find it easier to learn by reading or looking at pictures, or they need a bit more time to digest the information before giving it a go.

Nothing can replace having a real teacher or a spotter with you, as it’s important to stay safe when poling. Books are a great tool to help you improve your technique, but they’re absolutely not a replacement for a teacher.

A good pole dancing manual will include photographs from multiple angles, as well as a breakdown of how to enter and exit the move, where your hands should be positioned, the angle of your body, and which muscles are supporting you during the move. It should be written in understandable language and simple to follow, using encouraging and motivational words.

A good piece of fiction that focuses on pole dancing should capture the nuances of pole dancing, be realistic and accurate in its portrayal of pole dancers.

If you’re a pole studio owner, you could put some of these books in your lobby area for students to flick through when they’re waiting for class to start 🙂

Thanks for all the information. It was very helpful. Some other thoughts…
All Art Forms depend on technique and craft before they can ‘ascend’ (every pun intended) to becoming art. Understanding the archetype of the pole and it’s symbolic nature will ground you in the aesthetic and allow the paradigm of the pole dancing to be mastered and achieved. Fundamentally it’s organic in nature and would hint at an instinctive display of composition — as ever in this post-modern era, audience involvement is paramount.

  2. Hi! I thought that in the pole market was missing something like this:
    https://www.amazon.com/dp/1729361005
Please check it out and feel free to use affiliate marketing on it, if you want to add it in your list 🙂
It is a coloring book about pole dancing but it also contains some “tutorials” to help recall some beginners moves.

  3. I have just published a Beginners Pole Fitness book also 🙂
It has full muscle break downs, move break downs, the science behind it, tips, all sorts! As well as anatomy imagery of pole moves.

The First Steps, by Lara Johnson
    (ISBN 9780645017601)

Slowly appearing with many online retailers (as today is the publish day and I am super excited!!)
