Vegan Pole Dance Grip Aids – Cruelty-Free Pole Dancing Products!
Vegan lifestyles have increased in popularity over the last few years. This is a good thing as being vegan has many other environmental benefits besides animal welfare. When it comes to pole dancing and you’re vegan you’ll want to know that the products you use are cruelty-free. The following products are confirmed to be vegan-friendly:
Main ingredient: Tree Resin
Despite its name, this is a fantastic pole dancing product! Gorilla Snot is a very sticky Grip Aid, it’s also used by musicians such as guitarists and drummers to help them keep hold of their plectrums and drumsticks! It’s also widely used as a sports grip. It’s suitable for use with sweaty hands and dry skin (both sweat and dryness can cause problems with grip when pole dancing). It only works once it has been activated by rubbing your hands together, and when you’re done it dissolves/evaporates into the air. Good news – this product is cruelty-free!
Main ingredient: Tree Resin
Pole Honey is very similar to Gorilla Snot, it comes in a similar little pot and is made from the same type of ingredients. The main difference is that this product has ‘Pole’ in the title so it’s aimed towards us pole dancers. Pole Honey is also confirmed to be vegan-friendly.
Main ingredients: Alcohol & Silica
Girlie Grip is another antiperspirant product, designed for pole dancers with sweaty hands and skin! So, if you have dry skin then this may not work for you. It’s a liquid, and you only need a very small amount of Girlie Grip for it be effective. And – it’s suitable for vegans!
Main ingredient: Aluminium Sesquichlorohydrate
Carpe Lotion is designed for people with sweaty hands and feet! It’s antiperspirant that works very well and is very effective for pole dancers. If this is your preferred grip aid, then you’ll be pleased to know that it’s vegan-friendly and cruelty-free!
Stickum Spray Grip Enhancer by Mueller
Main ingredient: Resin
Stickum Spray Grip Enhancer is one of the most sticky pole dance grips available! It’s known as “super glue for the body” – which is one hell of a statement! The only problem with stickum spray is that it “re-activates” with water so it’s difficult to remove from your skin! And you also need to clean your pole much more often with these sticker types of grip aids. Mueller Stickum Spray Grip Enhancer is a vegan-friendly product.
Dirty Girl Poletice
Main ingredient: Silica
Dirty Girl Poletice is made from organic, natural ingredients and works as an antiperspirant. It is a mild grip aid suitable for people with mild-medium sweaty hands! You mix a small amount of water with it and rinse it off when you’re finished. It is not suitable for dry hands, as it makes them even drier! Dirty Girl Poletice is a cruelty-free product.
Lupit Pole Grip
This is not a powder, lotion or wax like the other grip aid products. It’s a soft pillow that you use on your skin or on the pole. The black side of the pillow increased friction for better grip, and the pink side prevents sweating. The ingredients and materials made to make the Lupit Pole Grip are cruelty-free and suitable for vegans.
Embrace Pole Grip
Main ingredient: Glycerine and Water
Embrace is a very light spray grip that hydrates your skin, It’s made from Aloe Vera and Rosa Damascena so it also helps your skin heal from your bruises and friction burns! This product is confirmed to be vegan-friendly.
Dew Point Pole
Dew Point Pole is a spray that’s specifically designed for pole dancers to use on their body. Unlike other pole dance grip aids, Dew Point Pole is not for use on your hands. It’s actually designed for use anywhere else on your body (apart from your hands!) It also naturally helps to moisturize your skin while increasing your grip on the pole at the same time.
It is available in three different formulas: light, medium and ultra.
Dew Point Pole have reached out to us to confirm that it is vegan. It was previously ‘unconfirmed’, so thanks to Dew Point for clarifying this!
Non-Vegan-Friendly Pole Dance Grip Aids
The following products are not vegan-friendly, and this list explains why they’re not cruelty-free.
ITac2 Regular/Extra Strength
This product is made from Beeswax, and therefore not suitable for vegans.
Mighty Grip Powder
While Mighty Grip powder doesn’t contain any animal-derived ingredients and it hasn’t been tested on animals, its main ingredient is thermoplastic. Mighty Grip may appear to be a cruelty-free product, but it technically isn’t. When you wash Mighty Grip from your hands, plastic enters the water supply and eventually ends up in the sea. Microplastics in the sea causes a major problem for marine life, as they eat the tiny bits of plastic.
Gorilla Gold Grip Enhancer
Like iTac2 grip aid products, Gorilla Gold Grip enhancer is made from beeswax, and so it’s not suitable for vegans. On the otherhand, it is reusable and does not need replacing very often like some other grip products.
Grip Aid Products with Unconfirmed Vegan-Friendly Status
According to Everything Pole Dancing’s Facebook Page, these grip aid products did not confirm whether their products are suitable for vegans:
Liquid Grip is also unconfirmed when it comes to its vegan status. This fairly popular pole dancing and sports grip is made from chalk and alcohol.
Dry Hands is probably the most popular dancing grip worldwide. It’s a liquid, and only requires a few drops to be effective, it’s very good for people with sweaty palms and it’s relatively inexpensive; a small bottle lasts for a long time. Dry Hands is made from alcohol and silica, but we don’t know whether it’s cruelty-free or not, as the manufacturer has not confirmed this.
So that’s our list which details the vegan-friendliness of all the most popular pole dance grip products. We hope this has made you feel more informed and aware as a consumer about the ingredients of various grip aid products. Share this post with your vegan pole dancing friends if you found it useful!
